Sunday Night Routine
29.1.17Hey friends, it's been such a loOoOong time since I've posted a blog. I miss it! That's about to change. 2017 has been deemed the year of "me." Okay, lets be real... every year is the year of me. However, this year I'm taking that to an even deeper level. Blogging is something that always made me happy, so I'm making it a priority. (This theme will carry throughout this whole blog post.)
Every Sunday will be my new postings schedule, no excuses! I'm planning on broadening the topics posted, and an open to any suggestions or requests!
So that being said, is starting my first Sunday blog with a Sunday Night Routine. Sundays are hard. Sundays are spent thinking about to unknown of what the week is going to bring. For the last month I've really tried to take Sundays by the reigns and instead of letting that anxious, dooming feeling take over I've been staying busy and getting prepared for the week.
One thing that's non-negotiable on Sundays is a workout. This could be going to the gym, yoga or just going for a walk. Exercise has really been helping me keep my mind off of the real world and Sundays are no exception. I usually try to have a rest day on Mondays because I know I'll be flustered from being fully aware of what the week will bring. So Sundays are non-negotiable.
Another Sunday ritual is doing my hair! This is such an easy tip to help you feel more prepared for the week. I normally like curling my hair because I can get 3-4 days out of a curl, however I'm due for a wash tomorrow anyways (poor hair-washing scheduling this week.. am I right) so I'm straightening it for the first time in forever.
Straightener: Sally's
After my hair is luxurious and ready to take on the week (aka, let me sleep longer in the mornings) it's my favourite time... FACE MASK TIME. This is a Sunday ritual. I usually use this charcoal Origins mask because this is the beeeeest. I've sang the praises of this mask before but seriously, you can't beat it! It gives a total deep clean, and really helps those pesky black heads.
Face mask: Sephora
Now, I have to nurture my poor, dry, flaky Canadian-winter skin (*eye roll* in case you couldn't pick up on that vibe.) the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer is the holy grail of moisturizers. I've mentioned this before as well, I never stray #Loyal.
Moisturizer: Sephora
The last couple of things I do to prep is a) Meal-prepping my lunches for the week, and b) Picking out my outfits for the week (or at least, the next day.)
Jeans: AE
Blouse: Gap
Necklace and bracelet: Forever 21
Side note: I have always had this non-sensical infatuation with never wanting to wear the same outfit twice. And in 2017 I'm GETTING OVER THAT SHIT. I don't know where that ever stemmed from, but I'm over it. My weekday morning routine would consist of waking up tired as hell, trying to put together a *different* never-worn-before outfit, failing miserably and not having enough time to change (BECAUSE I DID NOT PREP MY OUTFIT) and then just going to work in something I hated, and feeling self-conscious all day. Repeat Monday thru Friday.
Now it's time to chill. I've been loving this essential oil diffuser! Tonight I'm using this Clarify mix of essential oils which I really love to help open up my sinuses and to get ready for bed time!
Diffuser & oils: Marshalls
Another resolution for 2017 is to get back into reading, so I'm trying to read a little bit each day. I'm obsessed with e-books, they're sooo convenient and such a money saver.
I've also been using this Pillow mist from Bath and Body Works recently. It's smells insanely good, and helps to get to sleep on Sundays when those anxious thoughts are just driving you crazy, ya know?
SO that's what a normal Sunday looks like for me. As I said, 2017 is the year of me, and doing things that make me happy. How do you guys prep for the week? Everyone has different routines so I'd love to hear yours!
See you next Sunday! (I promise)
Ashleigh
