Story time: Bath & Body Works $10.50 candle sale
12.12.15Happy weekend everyone!
I don't know about you, but I'm about to crack open some Pinot and sip away this insane week. Just to start this story off with how insane my week has been, on Monday a brand new building beside our office (our office is a townhouse) burned completely to the ground. Everyone is safe, but there was a lot of damage. The police are thinking it was done intentionally ~ I feel V safe at work ~ as the neighbourhood was pretty anti-this building being built.
Anyways, we were uprooted from our office on Monday which made this week feel much longer than normal and by the time Friday night hit I was ready to crash. However, I couldn't just crash after work because Bath & Body works was having their annual $10.50 three-wick candle sale, and I could not possibly pass that up (I also had coupons so.......) so I went right after work.
Because I went right after work I was tired and cranky and just wanted to fight my way through the masses to get these damn candles. I spent record timing picking out five beautiful candles, pay for them ($37 for 5, HI) and I'm on my way.
Since I was high on candle scents and feeling adrenaline from fighting my way through the crazies, I got a second wind. I decided I'd head into Sephora since I'm not feeling as tired as I was. I add a little pep to my step, stroll down the hall, go to make the turn into Sephora, make too sharp of a turn in my heels (damnit) and get dragged to the ground by my 30lb bag(s) of candles.
And no I'm not kidding, the crash was so loud the manager from Sephora came running to the doors and was talking to her employee saying "I thought I just heard a ton of stuff fall. Like a big crash." However by this time I had already gotten myself back on two feet because I was deadly embarrassed. I strolled into Sephora, looked around for a few minutes to not make myself look suspicious, meanwhile my foot is POUNDING and my bags of candles are jingling to the tune of broken glass.
I'm so pissed now. I just made a trip specifically here to buy these candle, waited in line, spent time picking them out, was so excited about them.... And they're smashed. I couldn't even bring myself to look in the bag so with my aching foot I made my way back up to BBW to just see if it would be possibly to exchange. LUCKILY they knew I was literally just in there five seconds ago so they exchanged them for me (amen to Bath&Body.)
However, here I am the next day in excruciating pain unsure of how to fix my foot.
Was it worth it?
Probably.
Now onto the candles...
I picked up champagne toast, which I've wanted all season but kept putting off. Sweater weather, hot buttered rum, mahogany teakwood and Hawaii (which will be tucked away for warmer days.)
Did anyone else hit up the BBW Sale? Let me know in the comments!
