Drugstore makeup review!

4.4.16

Bringing a little drugstore makeup haul and review to you to brighten up your Monday blues!

A few weeks ago I was in need of same main necessities and thought I'd give Shoppers a whirl ever since they added NYX as a permanent part of their makeup collection! While I stopped in for NYX I actually came out with much more than that (obviously)

I first picked up this Essie Gel Top Coat as one of my followers had said to give this a shot for my crappy nails. Update; this still doesn't work. It's okay for the first day (or first few hours sometimes) and after that it's back to chip-city. I think I've just accepted that I am NOT meant to paint my own nails and I just need to go back to the nail salon full time. I say this as I hear my wallet crying, but I'm just really uncertain as to what the solution is!! If anyone has any more suggestions PLEASE let me know :)
Product: Essie Gel Top Coast - $10.00

I also picked up three different lip liners as I have never really worn these before but think they are tooootally necessary with my new wild and crazy colourpop colours! I bought these from Essence for SO cheap and they are ahhhh-mazing! Like I said, I don't have much to go off of but I really like these. I bought a lip liner from Bite once and I actually didn't like it as much as I like these! They're smooth and pigmented and really really work.
Product: Essence Lip Liner - $2.99

I also needed some new foundation and to be honest I usually always buy this from the drugstore because every time I've spent a pretty penny on a foundation I'm disappointed with it anyways. I normally go for the Maybelline FIT foundation but thought I'd give this Loreal True Match a try since I did some preliminary research online and it seems to have really great reviews! So far so good! I find that it's thicker than FIT which is totally what I was looking for. Definitely a win for this
Product: Loreal True Match Foundation - $14.99

I also bought this little brow wiz from Essence as well, not because I needed it but because it was cheap and thought I'd give it a try. I don't like this... But not because it's essence just because I don't like these particular forms of brown brushes. I think the colour is good but the brush itself doesn't hold a whole lot of product. So, this is a nay from moi.
Product: Essence Make Me Brow - $3.99

Lastly, what I ACTUALLY went to the drugstore for in the first place.. This NYX cover up. This is great! I always used to buy the FIT cover up to match my foundation but this is slightly cheaper and matches the consistency and quality for sure. A staple in my purse from now on!
Product: NYX liquid concealer - $5.99

Hopefully this gives you some inspo the next time you're trying to save a buck on these products!
