Colourpop Review!!

26.3.16

Hellooooo and happy Saturday!! Happy long weekend Saturday, at that. I've been dreaming of tomorrow's turkey din for weeks now let's be honest.

The last few weeks have been a little crazy but I neeeeeded to make some time to get this colourpop review to you!!

I posted on Instagram a few weeks ago that my colourpop order finally came in, and now that I've been wearing these bad boys for a little while I think I'm fully equipped to give my two cents!

First and foremost, the whole purchasing process was easy peasy lemon squeazy. I was sceptical about shipping costs and potential duties but honestly these products were so cheap I was willing to take the risk. My order came in, in just under two weeks, which is a little lengthy but that made the anticipation even better!

So let's talk numbers. The whole reason behind wanting to try these out is how cheap they are!!! These are no joke... The ultra matte liquid lipsticks are only $5 USD. So Canadian that's about $7. SEVEN DOLLARS?! I can buy crappy N.Y.C lipstick for seven freaking dollars. So I thought that since the price was sooooo low there must be a catch when it came to shipping. Honestly, yeah shipping was about $11 but that's NOT BAD AT ALL. I bought 3 ultra matte liquid lipsticks and an eyeshadow, all of that came to $50 including taxes and shipping. If I were to go to Sephora and buy two Kat Von D liquid lipsticks that would be over $60. So, to me... This was so worth it.

NOW FOR THE FUN STUFF. I bought three completely different out of the box sort of shades because I feel like I've been in a pinky nude rut lately. I bought a coral (ouija), a bright purple (lychee) and a brown/red/brick (tulle).

So I really did not anticipate wanting to use lychee or ouija until the warmer weather hits but MAN. LOOK AT THEM. They just were begging to be out and about. I've found multiple ways to wear these crazy colours even in the dead of winter because .. *oBvIoUsLy*. Ouija is such a perfect coral, I've been looking for one in preparation for summer and this is amazing. It's everything I was envisioning. Lychee is so far out of my comfort zone because this isn't even a colour I would probably think about purchasing as a clothing item. However I must say that even this wild purple has been out to play on multiple occasions. And tulle is honestly something I could wear every day. It really reminds me of a Kylie Jenner colour or Jennifer Aniston circa 1994 colour. I loooooove.

Okay let's get down to business. So, yeah they're cheap Ashleigh.. But are they the bomb.com?

Yes.

The answer is yes.

This is a swatch from the very moment that I opened these.

THIS is a swatch the next morning post showering AND SLEEPING. Now, I reeeeally should have taken pictures over the next few days but I swear on my life it took three showers and four days for these to completely get off of my hand. Especially ouija. I was at work and a coworker and I were rubbing HAND SANITIZER on these swatches to try to get rid of hem and they wouldn't budge.

The quality is just as good on your actual lips. I find that they are dry but they are a good type of dry, like a flexible dry. I find that I don't even feel like on my lips.  Something like Kat Von D, feels like a bad face mask that you left on too long by the end of the day. These are so dry and airy

I do find that I need to wear a lip liner with these where I normally wouldn't actually bother with one (although I found super duper cheap ones from the drugstore that are on point.. That will be another blog :))

Anyways!!!!! That was so long and obnoxious but I hope you all go buy colourpop right now because it will change your life. Just saying.
